Eminem Releases Another New Song and Sets Album Release

08/27/2013
.
(Radio.com) If you were watching the 2013 VMAs on Sunday (August 25), you may have caught a brief ad in the first half of the show announcing Eminem's new album, MMLP2, short for The Marshall Mathers LP 2. You've already heard "Survivor," which was premiered as part of a trailer for the new video game, Call of Duty: Ghosts.

Yesterday (August 26) Em breaks off another part of the album with the full version of "Berzerk." Listen to the fiery, Rick Rubin-produced track that samples, of all things, Billy Squier's "The Stroke." It's already hit radio airwaves nationwide.

Little is known of MMLP2, but we do know that familiar faces like Rick Rubin, Dr. Dre and No I.D. will serve as producers for the album. No I.D. spoke to MTV News in 2012 as he was going into the studio with Eminem:

"He's one of the best, I want to work with one of the best and try and give some music contributions. I think that would be one of the next steps in that lineage of what I'm trying to do."

MMLP2 marks Eminem's tenth studio album and serve as the follow-up his 2009 LP, Recovery. While the "Berzerk" chorus that goes, "So crank the bass up like crazy and let yourself go," might sound more like a sequel to the "Lose It," the album title is in reference to his seminal 2000 album, Marshall Mathers LP.

MMLP2 is due out November 5 on Interscope/Shady/Aftermath records. Check out the song here.
