Linda Ronstadt Can No Longer Sing Due To Disease

08/26/2013
.
(Classic Rock) Linda Ronstadt is suffering from Parkinson's Disease, she's revealed and it's robbed her of her singing voice. The veteran artist, 67, has confirmed long-repeated rumours within the music industry and admitted she'll never be able to sing again.

She first thought the problem arose as a result of a tick bite, but was later diagnosed with the degenerative disorder – and she suspects she's had it for several years.

"I can't sing a note," Ronstadt tells AARP. "I couldn't sing and I couldn't figure out why. I knew it had to do with the muscles but I thought it might have also had something to do with the tick disease I had. Then I had a shoulder operation so I thought that's why my hands were trembling.

"Parkinson's is very hard to diagnose, so when a neurologist said, 'Oh, you have Parkinson's,' I was completely shocked. I think I've had it for seven or eight years already because of the symptoms I've had." more on this story
