Iconic Pink Floyd and Sabbath Artist Storm Thorgerson Dies

(Classic Rock) Graphic designer Storm Thorgerson has died at the age of 69, his family have confirmed. The visionary behind some of the most memorable album covers of all time had been fighting cancer.

He's remembered for his eye-catching work with design firm Hipgnosis from the 1960s until its closure in 1983, and then with his freelance collective Storm Studios.

Among his works are Pink Floyd's The Dark Side Of The Moon, Atom Heart Mother and Wish You Were Here; Black Sabbath's Technical Ecstasy; The Cult's Electric; Bruce Dickinson's Skunkworks; and covers for Dream Theater, Genesis, Anthrax, Audioslave, Muse and many others.

As a video director he created Floyd's Learning To Fly and High Hopes; Yes' Owner Of A Lonely Heart; Robert Plant's Big Log; and Bruce Dickinson's Tattooed Millionaire, among others. More about Storm including video.
