(TMZ) Michael Madsen was feeling a little dazed and confused on the road earlier this week before his DUI arrest ... because he's suffering from the flu -- sources close to the "Kill Bill" actor tell TMZ.According to sources, Madsen has been suffering from flu-like symptoms recently -- which might explain why cops observed him driving erratically on PCH in his gleaming red hot rod.
As we reported, Madsen was pulled over for weaving through traffic -- and subsequently arrested after cops decided he was under the influence of alcohol.
According to police, Madsen then blew a .20 on a breathalyzer ... more than double the legal limit in California (.08).
Madsen was later transported to a nearby hospital where sources close to the actor say he was treated for flu-like symptoms. He was ultimately cited for DUI and released.
We're told Madsen intends to plead "not guilty" to DUI charges. more on this story
