An Iowa doctor has been charged with eight counts of involuntary manslaughter for the deaths of patients including Slipknot bass player Paul Gray.Daniel Baldi is accused of over-prescribing narcotic painkillers to patients who went on to die of overdoses, according to The Des Moines Register.
The paper reports that the charging documents claim Baldi "did unintentionally cause the death of Paul Gray by the commission of an act likely to cause death or serious injury, to-wit, continually wrote high-dose prescription narcotics to a known drug addict from 12/27/2005 until his death."
The doctor could face up to 16 years in prison if he is convicted of all charges. Gray died of an overdose in an Urbandale, Iowa hotel room back in May of 2010. You read more about the charges here.
