(Gibson) Jack White's Third Man Records is opening its very own "novelties lounge" inside its Nashville headquarters. The space includes an expanded record shop and various retro fun.The store includes: "a Scopitone machine ( an old-timey juxebox for music videos) that plays Third Man videos. There's something called a Mold-a-Rama, which pumps out special shapes made from wax (in this case, replicas of Jack White's signature guitar). There's also a full-color photo booth. Everything in the lounge is coin-operated... using special Third Man coins."
The lounge's opening takes place Friday 23 November. On that day, Third Man Records will also release 100 tri-color 45s of Jack White's "I'm Shakin'" single, as well as a new single by the "world's oldest burlesque dancer" Tempest Storm.
The store will also sell White Stripes merchandise on "Black Friday," including a trio of limited-edition opaque red vinyl singles from the White Stripes' White Blood Cells: "Dead Leaves on the Dirty Ground" b/w "Stop Breaking Down", "Hotel Yorba" b/w 'Rated X", and "Fell in Love With a Girl" b/w "I Just Don't Know What to Do With Myself". more on this story
