Rush Honored For Lifetime of Artistic Achievement

(hennemusic) Rush are in Canada's capital, Ottawa, this week to receive a very prestigious honor. The legendary band are among the winners of a 2012 Governor General's Performing Arts Award, a recognition of lifetime artistic achievement.Each artist honored receives a cash award of $25,000 from the Canada Council for the Arts and a commemorative medallion struck by the Royal Canadian Mint. The Canadian Press reports Rush members Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson and Neil Peart joined their fellow recipients on Thursday for a visit to the House Of Commons to watch their Members Of Parliament (MPs) in action. more on this story
