Max Creek Announce 41st Anniversary Creekend

03/29/2012
.
Max Creek will be launching their 41st Anniversary Creekend on April 27 and 28 at the Fort William Henry Hotel and Conference Center in Lake George, NY.

The band is set perform on both Friday and Saturday evening inside the Towers Hall at the hotel., each night with a regional act playing in support. Local favorites The Stone Revival Band will also play an outdoor set on Saturday afternoon on the lawn of the hotel, overlooking the lake.

Lake George promoter Dave Ehmann is responsible for putting together this weekend of music, and is putting all of the proceeds back into the local community and music scene. Ehmann is the man behind Improv Records' Kamp David Saturday Music Summits, a weekly free concert series that takes place over the summer weeks at the Lake George Amphitheater in Shepard Park. Over the last few years he has also been responsible for the Fridays at the Lake Series. With the goal of providing quality, free, family friendly, live entertainment to both members of the local community, and the tourists that seek a weekend getaway in the summer months, Ehmann has now been providing Lake George with weekly free summer concerts for three years. Co-promoting the event is Guthrie Bell Productions, who have been bringing great live music to New York's capital region for twenty years.

Since their first performance together in May of 1971, the members of Max Creek estimate they've performed nearly 3,000 times. They also play host to an annual weekend summer festival, Camp Creek, that features both bands they have worked with for years, as well as talented up and coming groups. While they have traversed much of the country throughout their forty-one years as a band, most of their core following remains located in New England. Although they may not have ever achieved widespread mainstream success, their influences on the bands that make up the jam band genre today have no doubt at least partially taken cues from Max Creek. Phish has performed a cover of their instrumental piece "Back Porch Boogie", and as Glide Magazine stated, "Bands like Phish, moe., Blues Traveler, the Disco Biscuits and others are the trees from Max Creek's seeds of a thriving Northeast music scene that encourages live risk taking on stage and playing according to the feel of the present moment." Because of this, Max Creek and their fans known that the truest, best way to experience their music is in their live show.

For their 41st Anniversary Creekend, Lake George will likely prove to be an ideal setting. Being perhaps one of the most beautiful and popular summer destinations in the region, during the late April weekend the town will not yet be overflowing with tourists as it is in the summer months. Fans coming for the weekend will get to experience the music they love, and also be able to use it as a relaxing weekend getaway to enjoy the beauty of Lake George and its surrounding mountains with a like-minded community of fans.

For both evenings, doors open at 8:00pm. Friday, April 27, Capital Zen will start off the evening of music, and on the 28th it will be Rev Tor Band. Also on Saturday, The Stone Revival Band, featuring Vinnie Amico of moe., will be performing an outdoor afternoon set at 2:00pm. Various craft and food vendors will also be on site throughout the weekend.

Tickets are $25.00 per night or $40.00 for a ticket that includes both nights, they are on sale now and available at http://maxcreek.eventbrite.com
