Walmart and Walmart.com have set a July 3 launch date for the new $5 dollar CDs featuring performances from last season's top 5 finalists on American Idol. We were sent these details:Each CD features five songs, including a duet never before available for purchase, from the top-five finalists, including winner Phillip Phillips, Jessica Sanchez, Joshua Ledet, Hollie Cavanagh and Skylar Laine.
Additionally, an "American Idol Season 11 Duets and Trios Highlights" cd will also be available exclusively at Walmart and Walmart.com also for five dollars.
Phillip Phillips' CD will feature his chart topping coronation song "Home" which debuted at number two on the digital song chart with 278,000 downloads sold. "Home" marks the biggest sales week for an "Idol" winner's coronation song, since Nielsen SoundScan started reporting in 2005, surpassing David Cook's "The Time of My Life" which sold 236,000 in 2008.
Also available on July 3rd at all physical retailers is "American Idol Season 11 Top 10 Highlights," which features the show-stopping performances of the 10 finalists including Jessica Sanchez's performance of "I Will Always Love You," Elise Testone's performance of "Whole Lotta Love" and Colton Dixon's performance of Lifehouse's "Everything."
