Former The Academy Is... singer William Beckett has set a July 17th as the release date for Winds Will Change, the second of three EP's he will release in 2012. The EP was recorded in Phoenix, AZ and produced with Matt Grabe (A Rocket To The Moon, The Maine).
Following the release, Beckett will join Relient K and Hellogoodbye on a 19-city tour featuring stops in Seattle, San Diego, Austin and Denver.
The first single from the new EP, "Great Night," will be available tomorrow, June 19, at digital retailers including iTunes and Amazon.com.
"This selection of songs dives deeper into the never ending mysteries of love and the struggles and challenges that come with trying to nourish and sustain it. This is the next chapter," William says.
Beckett's first solo EP, Walk the Talk, was released in April 2012 to critical acclaim. Alternative Press said, "Beckett's new music cuts a swath through contemporary pop trends, retro-rock party anthems and thoughtful balladry." The Duquesne Duke added, "While many front persons of bands that split tend to fade away, Beckett revives his name with a refreshing new sound."
His third EP will be released in October 2012.
