Yep Roc Records have set a July 24th release date for the documentary concert film from The Reverend Horton Heat titled The Reverend Horton Heat: 25 to Life. The DVD bonus package will include the film 25 to Life, a live CD, and the first ever career-spanning "best of" compilation CD.
The concert footage for The Reverend Horton Heat: 25 to Life was recorded at the legendary Fillmore Theater in San Francisco in 2010, and includes live concert footage, band interviews, crew interviews and more. The footage captures the sights, sounds and energy of The Reverend Horton Heat doing what it does best - performing live. In addition, interviews, historical images and footage provide background and a deeper appreciation for one of the hardest touring bands in the business.
"We've been able to travel all over the world and play shows with music icons in historic venues. We've headlined so many sold out shows in some of the world's most famous venues, " says Jim Heath, founder of the band. "We've appeared on major network TV shows and had our music used in countless films and TV shows. We've played some of the biggest festivals in the world and got to hang around with some of the biggest stars in history. Not too long after some major label A&R lady told us that we were not right for a major label – we got a major label deal. People used to laugh at rockabilly. They don't laugh anymore."
The Reverend Horton Heat hails from Dallas, Texas, and the band's sound is described as "country-fed punkabilly." The band began its journey in 1985 and has never looked back. Well known for its high-energy and often humorous lyrics, the band has gained recognition in the mainstream with via songs in films, television, commercials and video games.
