The Cro-Mags founding bass player Harley Flanagan is facing two counts of 2nd degree assault and weapons charges after a backstage altercation where he allegedly slashed two members of his former group. The Cro-Mags were set to perform at Webster Hall in New York on Friday as part of the CBGB music festival. Flanagan reportedly went backstage and allegedly cut the band's current bass player Michael "The Gook" Couls in the arm and stomach with a hunting knife and slashed William Berario (whom the New York Post reports is a member of the band) above his eye and bit him on the cheek, according to the Post.
Police shut the event down after the altercation and both members of the band were taken to Bellevue Hospital for treatment of their wounds. Flanagan, who reportedly suffered a broken leg while be subdued by security, was also treated at the hospital. Read the New York Post report for more details.
