(hennemusic) Blue Oyster Cult guitarist/keyboardist Richie Castellano has put together a recording/video of Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" where he plays all the parts by himself. The talented player has been with BOC since 2004, when he initially signed on as bassist. In early 2007, when original member Allen Lanier retired from the band, Castellano eventually switched to dual duties on keyboards and rhythm guitar.
On his blog, Richie explains his discovery of the Queen smash as a kid, which began his lifelong fascination with the song: "In 1992 (I think) I went to the movies with my dad to see 'Wayne's World.' When it got to the famous car scene and Bohemian Rhapsody came on, I asked my dad, 'What is this?' He said, 'This is Queen.' I remember listening as the song just kept adding more and more layers of awesomeness until it just erupted at the famous headbanging climax. I was sold. This was officially the best song I'd ever heard and it only took one listen of only half of it to realize that." Check out the video
