Attention American Rolling Stones fans, The Ronnie Wood Show in North America will launch this weekend, January 29 on Q104.3/WAXQ-FM in New York.Premiere Networks sent over these details: The one-hour, U.K.-based radio program is available to rock music stations on weekends from 6 a.m. to midnight.
Produced by Somethin' Else, the critically-acclaimed radio show features Ronnie Wood -- who is best known as a member of The Birds, The Jeff Beck Group, The Faces and The Rolling Stones -- as he plays a variety of music from his favorite new and established artists, while sharing personal stories from his legendary music career. From living with Jimi Hendrix to partying with Janis Joplin, listeners are treated to Wood's inside view of the world of rock & roll, which he often illustrates by playing his guitar. In addition, he welcomes friends, music artists, celebrities and others such as Slash, Kenney Jones and Mary Wilson.
Wood stated, "I'm so excited to have my own radio show in America. I love going down the archives every week playing some of my favorite music of all time, while reminiscing and taking a trip down memory lane. It's more than a music show, it's an education, so sit back and enjoy the ride!"
"Ronnie is one of the most important rock stars in history, and it's a personal thrill to be able to bring this unique, creative program to a U.S. audience," stated Jennifer Leimgruber, Premiere Networks SVP of Programming.
Launched in April 2010, The Ronnie Wood Show currently airs on Absolute Radio in the U.K. Since its debut, the program has achieved tremendous success and received numerous accolades, including London's 2011 Arqiva Commercial Radio Award for "Best Newcomer" and "Specialist Programme of the Year," as well as the 2011 Sony Radio Academy Gold Award for "Music Radio Personality of the Year."
