Pop star Kesha's current single "Die Young" is at the center of controversy following last week's shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary, and now she claims she was "forced" to sing the song. U.S. radio stations have reportedly pulled the song out of airplay rotation following the tragedy and Kesha took to her Twitter account to post a response.
"I understand. I had my very own issue with 'die young' for this reason," Ke$ha reportedly posted on Twitter Tuesday (December 18) but the tweet has since been deleted, according to MTV News. "I did NOT want to sing those lyrics and I was FORCED TO."
Yesterday afternoon, she also tweeted, "I'm so so so sorry for anyone who has been effected by this tragedy.and I understand why my song is now inappropriate. words cannot express."
