A representative for Dave Grohl has struck down speculation that the surviving members of Nirvana plan to reunite and recruit a new frontman. The band appeared on stage last week for the first time in 20-years where they performed a new song from Grohl's forthcoming documentary Sound City with Beatles legend Paul McCartney.
The one-off reunion ignited speculation that the Nirvana members were planning to regroup. New York Post's Page Six quoted unnamed sources as telling them:
"Grohl has been privately telling friends that he's working on a 'Nirvana anniversary tour with a secret frontman.'"
When the paper reached out to a representative for Dave Grohl for comment about what the sources had told them, the rep called the reported reunion plans "nonsense."
