Jason Newsted has returned with a new self-titled group and is now using fans to break news about the group's upcoming debut release.Newsted plans to release the new four-song "Metal" EP on January 8th, according to a graphic of a letter that was posted on Twitter.
On Wednesday Newsted posted the following tweet: "whats up man? new tunes coming soon!! sign up @ http://newstedheavymetal.com to get latest info. Cheers People!! J"
Then Newsted apparently sent a graphic of a handwritten note with details about the new release to several people who in turn posted the graphic on Twitter on Friday and Newsted then retweeted their postings.
