Today Melanie Lynx tells us about her new single "I Spy" which was was produced by Chris Leon and mastered by Chris Gehringer (Rihanna, Kelly Clarkson, Madonna, Kanye West, etc.) Here is the story:My band mates always tease me and tell me I have an odd taste in men. But I can't help it- I like what I like! One Saturday night in April, we were out playing in a club and in the back of the room, sitting at the bar I see this guy. Blonde hair, handlebar mustache, dark eyes. On stage I turned to my bassist, Pablo, and said to him "Dude
do you see that guy at the end of the bar- he's so cute, I can't stop looking at him." When I noticed the guy at the bar was looking at me too- I really wanted him to come talk to me after the show. Right as he was about to leave, he did.
I felt like a middle-school girl. For the rest of the night, I was all smiles and the boys in the band were laughing at me, trying to figure out what it is I see in the guys I like.
When I went home that night- the idea for "I Spy" was born. Co-producer for the song, Jason Weiss, came up with the title and we brought the idea to my good friends and writing partners Ben Samama and Charlie Snyder. The final song was produced by Chris Leon and Jason Weiss in Chris' apartment in NYC.
Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself here and learn more about Melanie right here!
