Scott McKenzie, best known for his hit 1967 song "San Francisco (Be Sure To Where Flowers In Your Hair)," died at his home on Saturday (August 18, 2012). Cause of death was not immediately released but he had reportedly been ill prior to his death, according to TheMusicsOver.com.
Aside from "San Francisco (Be Sure To Where Flowers In Your Hair)," which was written by John Phillips of the Mamma & The Papas and reached the Top 5 on the charts, McKenzie co-wrote the Beach Boys 1988 No. 1 hit "Kokomo." Read more about him here.
