(hennemusic) Last week, Green Day played a surprise club show in Los Angeles, where the group debuted some new songs from their forthcoming trio of albums, "Uno," "Dos" and "Tre."One of the tunes, "Kill The DJ," has surfaced online after being played on UK radio. "[Bassist] Mike [Dirnt] asked me to write a song with a four-on-the-floor rhythm," Billie Joe Armstrong told Rolling Stone while explaining the origins of the tune.
"I'd never done it before. It's kind of like [The Clash's] 'Sandinista!,' Ian Dury's 'Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll' and the Tom Tom Club song, 'Genius Of Love.' We were trying to figure out how to make dance music without turning into a dance band." Listen here.
