Columbia Records set over word that they will release Patti Smith's eleventh studio album, Banga, on June 5th. 'April Fool,' the first single from Banga, (featuring Tom Verlaine) was released digitally this week. Apart from Verlaine, the album also features guest appearances from Jack Petruzzelli, Smith's son Jackson and daughter Jesse Paris.
Banga was recorded at Electric Lady Studios in New York City and produced by Patti Smith and her band: Tony Shanahan, Jay Dee Daugherty and her long-time collaborator Lenny Kaye.
