Today Eric Dill, the former frontman for The Click Five, tells us about the song "Wherever You Are" from his brand new solo EP "Wherever You Are". Here is the story:"Wherever You Are" to me is the most solid of pop rock songs. It was written in NYC and finished in Hollywood with the production of Matt Radosevich and myself and mastered by Eric Valentine at Barefoot Studios. I had this super solid, mid-tempo, pop leaning, ballad-ish rocker vibe for the single.
The song is a simply stated, desperately longing call to be 'wherever you are'. To be where that person is, the one who has your heart. In those moments of heartache where eternity is the forecast state of your pain. The resolution is explicitly to be wherever that person is. That is the feeling. This is the song. We really embraced the pop potential this song had and with just the right production bridged that line between pop and rock in a very satisfying way. "Wherever You Are", with it's concept and musical motion feels like a strong way to introduce listeners to the record. I'm hoping that somewhere, at some time, someone is helped even just a little, knowing they are not alone in those longing moments.
Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself as you watch the video right here!
