This week Alberta Cross releases their The Rolling Thunder EP, which features 5 songs, each recorded in a different city around the world. To celebrate we asked frontman Petter to tell us about each song:Ramblin' Home: I wrote "Ramblin Home" a few years ago in London, England. It's an older blues gem that we've been playing on the road for a while, but we never produced a recording that did it justice until now. The live version always had this gritty vibe to it, but my goal for the EP recording was to bring out it the darker soul sound beneath the surface. We recorded it at Jimmys old quarters, Electric Lady studios in New York City.
Wait: "Wait" was written at a studio in the middle of nowhere outside of Charlottesville, VA called The Haunted Hollow. I originally wrote the song in bed on a guitar but felt almost immediately that I wanted it to be more synth heavy. The lyrics are mainly about everything you could have done -- all the different paths you could have taken but didn't. This tune has always been one of my favourites.
We will be back Friday with the final three songs. In the meantime, learn more about the EP right here!
