(Gibson) Picture this: You're in a little Seattle rock group called Nirvana. Your new album, Nevermind, is a month old, and it's gaining momentum. Now, MTV's Headbangers Ball wants you on their show. It's a no-brainer to do it, right?Apparently, not for Dave Grohl. In celebration of the 20th anniversary of Nevermind, MTV News recapped their October 25, 1991, episode, which featured members of the grunge rockers.
While frontman Kurt Cobain (dressed is a crazy-looking, bright-yellow ball gown) and bass player Krist Novoselic sat down with host Riki Rachtman, drummer Grohl was missing and, apparently, had decided to skip the taping.
From the looks of the video, Cobain didn't really want to be there, either. "So he sits down, and the whole time he's just like, 'Uhhh.' You could tell that he didn't want to be there," Rachtman said. "I wasn't getting any good answers, I wasn't finding out anything about them. ... It was like pulling teeth. What started as a day that I was really excited about ended up becoming a day that I was just like, 'When is this over?' And you can just see [it]." more on this story
