Temple of Thieves, featuring former Nile members Chief Spires and John Ehlers, are currently writing material for their debut which is slated for a Spring 2012 worldwide release. The group have inked a two album deal with Goomba Music. Here is what they sent over: Temple of Thieves was formed by Spires (Bass) and Ehlers (Guitar) in 2010 when they began writing songs completely different than anything they had done it the past. Chief contacted his friend and legendary metal drummer Flo Mounier of the band, Cryptopsy. Flo joined the line up and the three recorded tracks for a five song EP. The search then began for the perfect singer to round out the band.
They came across vocalist Michael Rock in Atlanta while he was performing in a regional band and were blown away by his range and stage presence. He heard the recorded tracks and quickly joined the fold. Temple of Thieves was born.
Spires had this to say, "We are very excited about this signing. We're looking forward to working with Goomba Music on the upcoming full length album, due out early 2012! There are some great people over at Goomba that share our vision of becoming an international success. We are currently writing new songs that are gonna' blow you away!"
Goomba Music's President, Mark Nawara, adds, "Very rarely do you find a band that is very unique and Temple of Thieves is such a band. We are very excited to welcome them to the Goomba Music family and we cannot wait to share their music with the world".
