(Gibson) Kinks superfans and sound purists are sure to be excited about this one. The Kinks have announced the released of the Kinks in Mono box set – a 10-CD collection that compiles the band's '60s material, all delivered in its original mono state. The set will be available on November 21 in the U.K., according to Ultimate Classic Rock. No U.S. release has been announced yet.
Included in the set – the legendary band's first seven albums (from 1964's Kinks to 1969's Arthur), plus other material (EPs, rarities) on three more discs. The whole thing comes packaged in a Dansette-style box (a Dansette was a portable record player) with a book featuring liner notes, rare photos and more. more on this story
