(TMZ) Charisma Carpenter -- who played hot cheerleader Cordelia Chase in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" -- tells TMZ, she narrowly avoided serious injury this week ... after a maniac driver smashed into her car ... then fled the scene. Charisma says the other car was speeding down an L.A. street at speeds around 60 mph ... before slamming into her car -- and 4 others. The actress isn't sure what caused the other driver to be so reckless ... but thinks whoever was behind the wheel was "probably on something ... or running from the law." So far, the mystery driver has not been identified, but Charisma DID catch his license plate number ... and has already been in contact with police. more on this story
