TJ Courtney Eyes Fall Release

10/07/2011
.
(MB) TJ Courtney plans to release his debut EP "One Day" this fall. TJ, who hails from Boston, Massachusetts, has a musical style that hearkens back to 90s powerhouse acts such as Incubus, Silverchair, and Foo Fighters.

His distinct, gritty vocals blend with powerful hooks and melodies that lay the foundation for his eloquent lyrics. It is easy to tell that songwriting is a thoughtful, introspective process for TJ, with songs such as the EP's title track, "One Day," which questions our impact as a species on the world, or "Who Are They" off the upcoming second EP, a song that brings to light this generation's paranoid obsession with online voyeurism.

To record the songs on his upcoming releases, TJ teamed with an experienced crew in the studio, including songwriter/producer Jason "Space" Smith (Seether), songwriter Waymon Boone (Splendor), producer Andrew Dixon (Colbie Caillat) and mixer Mark Needham (The Killers, Neon Trees).

This past spring saw him hitting the road at venerable venues including the Middle East (Boston), Webster Theater (Hartford), and the Delancey (NYC), while the summer saw him on a national tour with a 4-piece ensemble to spotlight the full rock arrangement of his upcoming releases.
