Linkin Park's Chester Bennington To Undergo Surgery

10/05/2011
.
Linkin Park have been forced to cancel their appearance at DeLuna Fest in Pensacola, Florida on October 16th because frontman Chester Bennington has to undergo shoulder surgery. Their camp had this to say:

Bennington suffered a shoulder injury while on tour in Asia last month that has been diagnosed as requiring immediate medical attention. "As much as I was looking forward to rocking our final date with our Florida fans, I've been advised to have immediate surgery, " said Chester.

"I'm sorry for any disappointment this has caused and look forward to seeing you again soon."

The Pensacola date was to have been the final show on Linkin Park's A Thousand Suns World Tour, which travelled through 5 continents, 30 countries and played in front of over 1,000,000 fans. Upon the tour's completion last week, co-lead vocalist Mike Shinoda posted this message to Linkin Park's fans: , " The tour took us to amazing new places. The performances at Puerta De Alcala (Madrid), Griffith Park (Los Angeles), Red Square (Moscow), Tel Aviv & Singapore (among others) were landmarks for the band. I just want to take a moment to say a heartfelt thank you to our fans for making this tour and album cycle truly amazing."

After a well deserved short break, the band is expected to assemble in the studio to begin work on its next recording.
