Thirty Seconds To Mars album 'This Is War' has been certified Gold by the RIAA (sales of 500,000 copies in the United States).

The news comes as the band prepare for their Mars 300 shows next month in NYC which will commemorate their Guinness Book Of World Record breaking 300th show played during a single album cycle.

This Is War was released on December 9th, 2009 and has since sold over 1.5 million albums and 1 million singles around the world.

It is certified Platinum in three countries including the UK, Germany and Poland and has achieved Gold status in seven countries including Ireland, Austria, Belgium, Portugal, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa and now in the U.S.

As previously announced, the band will celebrate their 300th show at Hammerstein Ballroom on Dec. 7th. They added an additional show on Dec. 6th after tickets sold-out in minutes. Fans now have another opportunity to celebrate Mars 300 as Thirty Seconds To Mars will play a very special acoustic Church of Mars show at Saint Peter's Church on Dec. 8th with guests Vitamin String Quartet.
