(hennemusic) Japanese rockers Shonen Knife are currently on a 30th Anniversary tour and playing shows in support of their latest release, "Osaka Ramones: Tribute To The Ramones"The album contains 13 Ramones covers and clocks in at just over 33 minutes
which sounds about right in Ramonesville. The band's self-reference as the "Osaka Ramones" has some history: Shonen Knife did a live show in Tokyo in 1998, doing all-Ramones cover tunes and billing themselves as "The Osaka Ramones" - a title which Joey Ramone used himself when introducing them onstage at the Troubadour in L.A. in August of '98.
Shonen's US tour pulled into Brooklyn on Friday for a show at the Bell House, where the band wailed through their regular set
before being joined by special guest C.J. Ramone. Check out video here.
