(Audible Treats) With the November 30th release of his sophomore album, Break Something, fast approaching, hasHBrown is keeping fans satiated with a bevy of new music from the LP. Late last month hasH delivered his lead single "The Death Penalty," and now, the Houston rapper/producer is excited to release the album's second single, "Break The Chain," featuring Detroit rapper Guilty Simpson.
On the track, co-produced with Chris Rockaway (hB makes beats under the alas Jett I. Masstyr), hasHBrown gets both spiritual and aggressive as he criticizes his own culture in a thought-provoking manner. "I'm speaking about whether enslaved ancestors would be proud of what we've made from the debts they paid," explains hasHBrown. "No matter what our circumstances or obstacles we face, we still have the opportunity to do better." For Guilty Simpson, being a part of the song was a pleasure, and, according to hasH, the Detroit rapper was "happy to finally get a feature that was 'talking about something.' It made me feel like he respected my vision," explains hasH on working with Guilty, "just to get him on a record was a great experience." Download the song here.
