(popmusiclife) Coldplay's new album, "Mylo Xyloto," has set a new UK digital sales record on its way to #1. The Official Charts Company reports the album scored the biggest one week digital albums tally of all time in the UK – becoming the first album to top 80,000 downloads in a week. "Mylo Xyloto" sold just over 83,000 digital sales last week, on the way to a total of 208,000 copies overall (including CDs), beating the previous one-week digital record of 79,800 by Take That's "Progress."
The only other artist albums to total more than 50,000 downloads in a week are Adele's "21," which sold 76,000 downloads in its debut week this past January, and Lady Gaga's "Born This Way," which sold 57,000. more on this story
