(Gibson) Despite the acclaim he has received over the years for the cover art of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, British pop artist Peter Blake feels that he has been underappreciated by The Beatles, themselves. Speaking to TimeOut Hong Kong, the "Godfather of British Pop Art" said that he has been under-rewarded for his contribution to one of the greatest albums in rock history."I still feel that the whole thing was unfair," he said. "The cover is just as important as the music it's an integral part, and should be rewarded [as such]. The Beatles have never really been aware of that, or they've consciously decided to not do it." When asked if he ever gets sick of being asked about The Beatles, Blake replied bluntly, "I do, yeah." more on this story
