(Gibson) John Walker, one of the founders of '60s hitmakers The Walker Brothers, has died at age 67 following a battle with liver cancer.The Walker Brothers featured Scott Walker, Gary Walker and John Walker, although they weren't actually brothers. They weren't even Walkers. Their real names: Scott Engel, Gary Leeds and John Maus. The group scored a string of #1 hits in the 1960s including "The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine (Anymore)" and "Make it Easy on Yourself," while a 1970s reunion returned them to the charts with "No Regrets." The latter title also was used in a joint biography published by John and Gary in 2009. The book, The Walker Brothers: No Regrets - Our Story, dished up the details of the Walkers' private lives, including encounters with stars such as Walt Disney, Humphrey Bogart, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and Jimi Hendrix.
After The Walker Brothers, John Walker went on to customize guitars; established a recording studio, a record label and production company; and toured and released music as a solo artist. more on this story
