(Gibson) Megadeth's Dave Mustaine has formed a new band with ex-Anthrax guitarist Dan Spitz. The band, reported to be called Red Lamb, has risen from the ashes of Spitz's previous project, Deuxmonkey, which was shelved after vocalist Wade Black quit in April and issued a cease and desist on all of his lyrics and vocals. The Red Lamb album will be mixed by Johnny K, who is also producing the next Megadeth album after producer Andy Sneap had to drop out due to a scheduling conflict with his own band, Hell.
Mustaine had already been involved in Deuxmonkey has far back as last year. In November 2010, he told this writer (in an unpublished segment of an interview for Mixdown magazine): "I've been working with Danny Spitz on his project and I was trying to sing a melody to him over the phone and I grabbed a guitar to play it, because with the increments of the frets it's a lot easier than when you're singing, when you're helping someone zero in on a melody over the phone." more on this story
