Today we celebrate Mother's Day this coming Sunday with Scarlett Cherry who tells us about "Angel" from her brand new album "Labor of Love". Here is the story:Initially, our concept for Labor Of Love was to write songs that were love letters from Mothers to their babies...to explore and relate the beauty and power of Mother's love.
Angel was written with my dear friend, collaborator, and producer, Alisan Porter. in her words.." Angel is a love affair of melody and spirit. it came from a random voice note on my iPhone. I was inspired by the idea of how much love you could have for something, before you ever meet it."
Together with Eli Rise, and my husband, Lee Cherry..we discussed the feelings associated with first time Motherhood, and the gorgeous anticipation of our little "Angel".
We were writing and recording Labor Of Love during my last trimester. Pregnancy fueled my love and passion for this piece. That coupled with the enormous capacity of pure love in the writing process...gave this song Wings.
