(Gibson) Roger Daltrey paid tribute to The Who's late bassist John Entwistle during a performance of the band's 1969 album Tommy in London on Thursday. The singer played a solo show as part of the Teenage Cancer Trust gigs at the Royal Albert Hall. Who guitarist Pete Townshend also appeared for two songs during a mammoth set.Daltrey added: "John always had the loudest voice, he had the voice of an angel. So this is for him and all those guys out there who are sent to terrible places like Afghanistan." Entwistle died of a heart attack in Las Vegas in 2002. The Who frontman performed the whole of Tommy backed by a five-piece band. Townshend made a surprise appearance early on, singing lead vocals for "The Acid Queen" and later playing on "Baba O'Riley." more on this story
