Daryl Hall and John Oates will receive the Music Icon Award at the TV Land Awards 2011. The duo will also perform some of its most popular songs which topped the pop charts throughout the '70s, '80s and '90s.
The "TV Land Awards 2011" will be held on Sunday, April 10, 2011 in New York City at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center and airs on TV Land on Sunday, April 17, 2011 at 9 PM ET/PT.
Daryl Hall and John Oates started making music together in Philadelphia in the early 1970s and went on to become one of the most successful duos in rock history. Meeting in a freight elevator while escaping a riot at the Adelphi Ballroom during the club's legendary Battle of the Bands, they joined forces to become the pioneers of "Rock 'N Soul."
Their rich repertoire has garnered them dozens of hits throughout the last four decades with instantly recognizable songs like "Kiss On My List," "I Can't Go For That (No Can Do), "Sara Smile," "She's Gone," "Out of Touch" and "One On One."
