Economists Say File Sharing Didn't Kill The Music Biz

Our friends at Explore Music had this interesting report: Up until now, the prevailing argument for the spectacular collapse of the recording industry involved cries of piracy and mountains of blame heaped upon P2P file-trading. But now comes along a research paper from the London School of Economics that says "Wait a second. Piracy and file-sharing are factors, but there's more to it than that." The LSE's Department of Media studies says we also have to look at the global recession, the higher cost of living and having less money to spend on entertainment. more on this story
