Perry Talks New Jane's Addiction

(Gibson) Jane's Addiction frontman Perry Farrell recently spoke about how tough it has been to record and release his band's forthcoming album. Farrell talked to RollingStone.com about the Jane's struggles amid the departure of two bassists – first Eric Avery and then Duff McKagan."It's definitely like, as Brian Wilson puts it: The dry hump," he said. "We're waiting and waiting and waiting to release this record. It's like watching something that you really want. You become an animal. Your desire grows and grows." The group, who also include Dave Navarro and Stephen Perkins, will release their first album since 2003 in the summer. It's titled The Great Escape Artist and features work from TV on the Radio member and Yeah Yeah Yeahs producer Dave Sitek. "He's like a scientist, and he's not afraid of making a monster," Farrell said. "It just keeps getting gnarlier and gnarlier." more on this story
