(Gibson) Nobody would debate Eric Clapton's standing as a bluesman. Even his overt pop hits like "Wonderful Tonight" and "Tears in Heaven" contain strong elements of blues-derived playing, like artful string bends, slide guitar and melodies based on pentatonic scales. But Clapton's greatest performances of blues tunes are a considerably more controversial topic. King, Riding With the King. And the tune, a King classic, packs the most punch on the album, with both kingpins trading lines and licks with the kind of focus that made them giants. For Clapton, the joy of working with King practically comes searing through the tracks. check out the full list
