Dave Matthews Band shocked die hard fans will they announced that they planned to take off 2011 from touring but that doesn't mean you won't be able to see them perform and even get a full music festival to boot. On Wednesday, the Dave Matthews Band announced that they will bring "Dave Matthews Band Caravan" to four U.S. locales this summer starting with Atlantic City, NJ in June. The DMB camp says that the series of three-day festivals will feature a diverse array of musical talent performing on three stages during the day with the Dave Matthews Band performing a full set each night.
Atlantic City, NJ has been selected to host the first "Dave Matthews Band Caravan," which will take place on June 24th, 25th and 26th at Bader Field, formerly the site of the Atlantic City Municipal Airport.
In addition to Dave Matthews Band, the lineup for the Atlantic City "Caravan" will include David Gray, Ray LaMontagne, The Flaming Lips, O.A.R., Damian Marley, Bassnectar, Dr. Dog, Amos Lee, Thievery Corporation, Michael Franti and Spearhead, Warren Haynes Band, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, Guster, Lotus, Rebelution, Fitz and the Tantrums, Carolina Chocolate Drops, Lisa Hannigan, Punch Brothers, From Good Homes, Delta Spirit, Big Gigantic, Alberta Cross, Mariachi El Bronx, TR3, Vusi Mahlasela, The Budos Band and Bobby Long and special performances by Dave Matthews Band members Carter Beauford, Stefan Lessard plus a Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds acoustic set.
The festival weekend will also include a number of late night shows at Atlantic City venues. Further details and a full festival schedule will be available soon.
