Tommy Lee Backtracks on Rob Zombie Directing Motley Crue Movie Claim

(Rock News Desk) Tommy Lee has distanced himself from stating Rob Zombie was going to direct the movie version of Motley Crue's book The Dirt.The drummer allowed the rumour to take flight after carefully allowing the idea to come out at an interview. He's been forced to clarify his quotes after Zombie said he wasn't involved in the project. Last week Lee said: "We finally got a director – Rob Zombie is going to direct. Things are moving forward." Following Zombie's strong denial Lee now says: "I would love to have Rob direct The Dirt, but as far as I know that's not happening. I haven't heard that anyone has been picked yet – the drummer is always the last to know." But is he simply using a trick used on his band to make it happen?
