Meet Disturbed Proteges Art of Dying

(Gibson) Hard rock quartet Art of Dying are big in Canada, as they well should be – after all, that's where they're from. But thanks to a rough-and-tough, never-stop work ethic and a little luck (in the form of heavy metal group Disturbed taking the band under their wings), the guys are making a big dent in the U.S. mainstream rock contingent. On March 22, Art of Dying release their major-label debut, Vices and Virtues, their first ever album to come out on Disturbed's Intoxication Records imprint thought Reprise. Howard Benson (Papa Roach, P.O.D., Daughtry) and Disturbed guitarist Dan Donegan produced the album, and it's packed with appropriately heavy-yet-melodic songs: lead single "Die Trying" works a snakelike, catchy melody through drill-press riffs while "Raining" (featuring Three Days Grace vocalist Adam Gontier) shows a thick, melody-driven take on hard rock.
