Cameron Carpenter Appearing With the YouTube Symphony Orchestra

03/08/2011
.
(PR) Cameron Carpenter will make a series of special appearances with the YouTube Symphony Orchestra in Sydney, Australia during their 2011 concert season, which runs March 14-20, 2011.

The event spans 5 days and features live concerts held at the Sydney Opera House, Sydney Conservatorium and other venues. Cameron is a featured soloist and collaborator.

On March 16, Cameron joins Swedish trumpeter Hεkan Hardenberger and members of the Berliner Philharmoniker and Vienna Philharmonic for a Brass Ensemble concert, performing Eugene Gigout's Grand Choeur Dialogue. He will perform at the Jam Session, a free-form improvisation evening, at The Basement, Sydney, on March 19, where he will play a digital organ by Roland installed especially for his appearance. The Grand Finale concert on March 20 is the debut of the 2011 YouTube Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Michael Tilson Thomas. The concert features Cameron performing Bach's Toccata in F on the Sydney Opera House organ.

For those unable to attend the concerts in person, YouTube will be recording all of the performances and uploading them to the YouTube Symphony Orchestra's channel at www.youtube.com/symphony. Fans from around the world can watch content on demand starting on March 14 and throughout the week, with new content being added daily.
