(Gibson) Elvis Presley is to receive a special honor from the city of Budapest in Hungary. Budapest is to commemorate the rock and roll pioneer with an honorary citizenship and a city landmark in his name. According to The Guardian, Presley is being recognized for his support of the attempted revolution in 1956 that saw Hungary rise up against the Soviet Union. Mayor of Budapest, Istvαn Tarlσs, who doesn't actually own a Presley record, said: "The reasons for honoring Elvis are not sentimental but political." more on this story
