(Gibson) Russia's RiaNovosti is reporting that a new bronze monument will be built in the western Siberian city of Tomsk. No, the monument will not memorialize Vladimir Lenin or Peter the Great. The subject of the piece will, in fact, be The Beatles. The six-million-ruble monument will reportedly feature life-size statues of John, Paul, George and Ringo in their familiar pose from the Abbey Road album cover. The statue will be created by local sculptors Nikolai and Anton Gnedyh, known for their monument A Pregnant Woman. more on this story
