Columbia Records has set a July 19th digital release of the soundtrack for the original motion picture, "A Little Help." The album includes three original tracks by Jakob Dylan, as well as a new version of the Dion classic "Runaround Sue"
"A Little Help" is the story funny touching, sad, and real of an ordinary person, engulfed by ordinary events, making an extraordinary emotional journey. It is written and directed by Michael J. Weithorn and stars Jenna Fischer, Chris O'Donnell, Rob Benedict, Brooke Smith, and Kim Coates.
Weithorn wanted the soundtrack to mirror each character's tale as the story unfolded, a musical "commentary" on the journey each character takes throughout the film. He approached Jakob Dylan about composing original songs for the film and what resulted were three "deeply evocative arrangements, as well as simple yet stunningly powerful lyrical imagery that, together, perfectly play off of and enhance the emotional content of the film."
Weithorn worked closely with the all of the artists on the soundtrack, many of whom also appear in the film. Rob Benedict's band Louden Swain has an original track on the album, while Zach Page and Dion also contribute songs as well.
Additionally, Weithorn worked with young composers and songwriters Austin Wintory and Cιleigh Chapman, who are also included on the soundtrack.
