Pioneering UK punk legends The Damned are celebrating their 35th anniversary with a tour of their homeland and have just announced that they are bringing the fun across the pond for a 9 date US trek. According to the tour flyer for the UK run, the band will be playing two of their classic albums on the trek, The Black Album and Damned, Damned, Damned.
Many credit The Sex Pistols as being the first UK punk band but that honor actually belongs to The Damned who were not only the first English punk band to release a single, but the first ones to release an album, hit the UK charts and tour the United States.
The US leg of the 35th Anniversary tour will kick off in Cambridge, MA on Roctober 20th and wrap in San Diego on November 1st. The UK leg will begin on November 9th in Bristol and wrap on the 20th in Edinburgh.
